BROADWAY KIDS AND COMPANY
CLASSES FOR ALL AGES AND LEVELS

Broadway Babies offered to ages 3 & 4
A 45 minute creative movement class with an emphasis on Ballet & Tap. Students will also be introduced to singing & acting through imaginative theatre exercises and games.

Intro to Musical Theatre offered to ages 4 1/2 to 6
A 1 hour combination class that focuses on acting, singing, and dance (Ballet, Jazz & Tap).

Intro to Acting/movement Ages 5-7
A 1 hour class incorporating improvisation, theatre games and movement.


*Jazz offered to ages 7 and up
A 1 hour class with an emphasis musical theatre style Jazz. Students will learn various jazz techniques and Broadway choreography (This class is a requirement to perform in our musicals)

Hip Hop Dance - Ages 8 & up

Learn the latest "hip hop" styles while listening to your favorite hip tunes ... a fun and energizing Class!

Tap Ages 7 & up
A 1 hour class that focuses on the fundamentals of tap. The curriculum includes the Al Gilbert tap technique and broadway choreography.

Ballet for Musical Theatre Ages 7 & up
A 45 min- 1 hour class with training in basic ballet technique. This is important for application for other dance techniques.

*Acting Ages 7 & up
A 1 hour class that focuses on acting thru Improvisation and scene study. Students will learn all areas of stagecraft including stage direction & theatre terminology. This class is a requirement to perform in our musicals.

*Vocal coaching - Covered in musical theatre classes
Training in the proper breathing , interpretation, phrasing, diction, and style of songs.

(Individual vocal coaching available) Students in Principal leading roles need required to take 30 min weekly-arrangements with director
Playwriting - Introduction into creative writing through fun exercises.

Courses marked with an * are required for inclusion in our musicals and are considered our full musical theatre program.

2006 spring plans include another trip to New York

Children who are enrolled in the program may look forward to the complete Musical Theater experience. Including some of the following:

Group trips to see professional musicals

Auditions and audition techniques

How to create a theatre resume & write a biography

Rehearsal time with professional choreographers

Stagecraft: makeup, lighting, sound, set design & theatre terminology

Large venue stage performance opportunity with professional lighting and sound technicians

Master classes with industries professional teachers and performers

Invitation to select students to "The Rockette Experience" in NYC , take a master class with the Rockettes in their rehearsal hall and a tour of radio city

Broadway Kids and Company is constantly updating and expanding its curriculum in an effort to bring our students the most complete musical theater program available.
