Class Descriptions
Divisions: Petite, Kids, Junior, Teen, Adults
PETITE DIVISION (18 mos-5 years)
DANCE w/Me! 18 mos-2 Years (1/2 hr to 45 min) Caregiver and student explore dance and music through creative movement.
Broadway Babies I & II - (Ages 3-5)
Class curriculum combines Intro to Tap, Ballet. Students also introduced to singing and acting through imaginative theatre games. BB II.. continuing studies in tap and ballet and intro to jazz.
Princesses & Pirates (2-5 years) Ballet class and creative movement through fairytales/stories.
Petite Stars (Ages 4-5) 1 hour Musical Theatre class includes Tap, Ballet, Acting & basic singing skills

KIDS DIVISION (6-8 years)
Musical Theatre Combo (1.5 hr) Includes Tap, Jazz, Acting & Voice
Ballet ( 1 hour) A 1 hour class with training in classical ballet technique. This is important for application for other dance techniques
Theatre Jazz (1 hr) Theatre style Jazz. Students will learn various jazz techniques and Broadway choreography (This class is a requirement to perform in our musicals)
Kids Bop (1 hr class) A fun class for the very beginner jazz/ hip hop dancer. (includes some basic tumbling for dancers)
Acting I (45 min) - An introduction into acting through games, imagination and improvisation
JUNIOR DIVISION (8-12 years) & (Teen/Adult Division 13+)
Theatre Jazz (1 hr) Theatre style Jazz. Students will learn various jazz techniques and Broadway choreography (This class is a requirement to perform in our musicals)
Tap
A 1 hour class that focuses on the fundamentals of tap. The curriculum includes the Al Gilbert tap technique and broadway choreography as well as Rhythm Tap.
Hip Hop (1 hr class) Jazz - Learn the latest "hip hop" styles while listening to your favorite hip tunes ... a fun and energizing Class! Will incorporate some basic tricks/tumbling for dancers
Ballet ( 1 hour) Class will focus on classical ballet technique. This is important for application for other dance techniques.
*Acting (1 hr) class focuses on acting thru Improvisation and scene study and monologues. Students will learn all areas of stagecraft including stage direction & theatre terminology and how to audition. This class is a requirement to perform in our musicals. Class will also incorporate *Vocal Coaching Training in the proper breathing , interpretation, phrasing, diction, and style of songs. Curriculum is generally based on musical being presented.
Private Voice - One on One voice focused instruction 10+ (or at discretion of teacher/director)
Advanced training in vocal techniques and vocal repertoire.
We also offer Pilates & Yoga Fit Morning and afternoon classes. Call for schedule info.
Class placement is determined by teacher and director. Please call for class placement/ recommendations.
Program & performance opportunity
"Recreational Program" - 1-2 hours of classes per week. Students audition and can participate in musicals as part of ensemble and end of year showcase. Invitation to master classes and workshops.
"Young Professionals Program" - 3 or more hours of dance/acting/voice per week. Students can audition for major role in our productions and or audition for dance team and attend master classes & workshops.
Dance Team- Students must be enrolled in Jazz, ballet, tap to participate. Additional weekly rehearsals, performances and workshops required.
We will design a curriculum based on interest of each individual student.
Students who are enrolled in the program may look forward to the complete Musical Theater experience. Including some of the following:
- Group trips to see professional musicals
- Auditions and audition techniques
- How to create a theatre resume & write a biography
- Rehearsal time with professional choreographers
- Stagecraft: makeup, lighting, sound, set design & theatre terminology
- Professional venue stage performance opportunity with professional lighting and sound technicians.
- Master classes with industries professional teachers and performers
- Invitation to select students to "The Rockette Experience" in NYC , take a master class with the Rockettes in their rehearsal hall and a tour of radio city
- Broadway Kids and Company is constantly updating and expanding its curriculum in an effort to bring our students the most complete musical theater program available.
